I don't believe
the results of this study, and I really have nothing to go on besides a healthy distrust of the government and my ongoing astonishment at the power of lobby groups. Also years of persuasion rounds that make the FDA an institutional cause (The FDA! The perfect inherent obstacle! Both greedy and stupid! Oh! And a friggin' bureaucratic nightmare! Rock! Blame them!) and one chemistry major nanny who has always refused to microwave plastic...
Did you ever see the study that proposed that the reason teenage birthrates are declining is not because of the success of education programs about abstinence and birth control, but is instead the result of decreased male fertility caused by chemicals in packaging and food?
ReplyDeleteToo bad it's so darn cold in Canada.
What do you mean? That's ALMOST like saying that the democratic process is for sale to the highest bidder.... um, never mind
ReplyDeleteI'm with you girl. Come to think of it, the very first college persuasion I ever saw, at Late Night my freshman year, was about this very subject. All these years later and the institutional cause remains. :)
