Well, I never work on Tuesdays, so uh, it's not like really a snow day, but still. The gym daycare was closed because local schools are closed, so my awesome excellent husband went to work late so I could grab a work out. I was the only person at my gym, which was cool, too.
The other day, Harry, Jack, and I were leaving the gym, and we passed a man and his daughter coming in. Harry said by way of greeting, "Howdy cowboy. Where's your horse?" because they man always wears a giant stetson and cowboy boots. He even works out in them. His daughter? Uses the elliptical barefoot. My gym is awesome. At any given moment, there are at least 3 men there who look like MIchael Moore.
So, anyway, Harry got to play in the snow for the first time this year.
He loved eating both his shovel
and the snow
That's me somewhere under all that coat.
Ben gave Harry a wild sled ride
that ended in a frigid face plant
and the kind of tantrum that can only be fixed
with Oreos and Reese's Peanut Butter cups dunked in cocoa.
Harry only ate a couple, then he pronounced the whole thing "too chocolatey" which raises doubts about his maternity.
I turned in a crop of revisions yesterday, and today I am experiencing a small taste of what life would be like without a choking deadline hanging over my head every waking and sleeping moment of every day and every night.
I would be such an amazingly patient and fun stay-at-home mom if I wasn't writing a dissertation in my "spare" time.
Okay, back to our all day pajama party.
We got some snow here too - not as much as you though!
ReplyDeleteLooks like y'alll had a lot of fun - well - I don't know about Jack - but the rest of you enjoyed the snow!
All day pajama party sounds like so much fun! And also very cozy.
ReplyDeleteI love that you and Ben have matching coats. That is adorable.
I also think I would be frigging June Cleaver without this dissertation. Too bad the world will NEVER know! Congrats on the milestone!
OMG, look at the crazy amount of snow you guys got!
ReplyDeleteAnd, as always, I'm dying at your commentary on life. Harry is most definitely your son, given the "Howdy, Cowboy" comment. Too funny!
Or, as Jonathan would say "FUN-NY"!
ReplyDeleteThis is a really funny post! I love the "Howdy, cowboy," line. I imagine that the guys at the gym only look like Michael Moore when they begin the workouts. After they have been going for about a month, they probably look like Daniel Craig, right?
ReplyDeleteThat looks like way more fun than my "snow day" which consisted of going to class (sadly not cancelled), paper writing, and trying to get my flaky student to get someone else to reschedule her conflicting exams.
ReplyDelete-Rachel
I love how many pictures you have of Harry eating cookies and cake and chocolate. A boy after my own heart.
ReplyDeletethat snow makes me so homesick!!
