I am limping along barely reading to finish out the year. I talked a good game at the start of the month, but things got away from me. I read 4 books:
4. Always Put in a Recipe and Other Tips for Living from Iowa's Best Known Homemaker by Evelyn Birkby: A collection of this writer's favorite newspaper columns from 1949 on-- it is precious and a quick read.
3. Bleeder by Shelby Smoak: He is a hemophiliac who contracted AIDS in his teens in the late 80s-- a literary memoir.
2. Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand: This was the most perfect Veteran's Day read ever.
1. Anne Frank: The Biography by Melissa Mueller: Um. Fascinating. Utterly fascinating.
Baby crying-- gotta go. But for those playing along at home, we are up to 109.
