Even though I spent the early part of this month on the beach, and the weather here has been delightfully summer-like, the beginning of fall always makes me want to curl up with a good thriller or eleven.
I feel like September is the month that I FINALLY start raking in the current-year titles, and this September was no exception.
Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover: Yes I am ashamed of myself.
All Good People Here by Ashley Flowers: You now how I feel about books with co-authors who are ghost writers who wrote too much to stay hidden. But this turned out to be good-ish. **2022
Daisy Darker by Alice Feeney: I appreciated the craft and the nod to Agatha Christie, but these characters were not at all compelling, and this one limped a long for me. **2022
The Ex Hex by Erin Sterling: Witch smut!! This was actually super charming, and I loved the narrator. I have already put the next book in the series on hold :) **Audio
In Her Boots by KJ Dell'Antonia: Loved this one. It was the perfect road trip read, and I left it on the bookshelf at the beach house we stayed in for someone else to enjoy on vacation. **2022
Suburban Hell by Maureen Kilmer: LOVED this. Perfect for spooky season, and a super funny send-up of the suburbs. **2022
The Lazy Genius Kitchen by Kendra Adachi: I liked this so much, I think I am about to fall down a major Lazy Genius rabbit hole-- there's a podcast, another book, an IG account-- so many possibilities! **2022
The Bodyguard by Katherine Center: I am a Katherine Center fan, and this one was a breezy little delight. **2022 **Audio
The Last Housewife by Ashley Winstead: I could not put this down-- you should read it!! **2022
On the Rooftop by Margaret Wilkerson Sexton: This is as good as the reviews, for sure. **2022
The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow: This was a FABULOUS audiobook, and I could not stop listening. **Audio
I Kissed Shara Wheeler by Casey McQuiston: YES YES YES YES-- the YA rom com everyone needs. **2022 **Audio
Girl, Forgotten by Karin Slaughter: YES, PLEASE. And I read it on the beach which was ::chef's kiss:: **2022
How the Word Is Passed by Clint Smith: I am biased because I sit on the committee that proposes books for our campus common reading program, and this is our 2022 choice. But, that said, EVERYONE SHOULD READ THIS BOOK.
Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin: I love all of her books, and this one had serious The Animators vibes. So great, you guys. Read it! **2022
People Person by Candice Carty-Williams: OH WOW. This is really sensational. **2022
My goal this year was to read 122 books. I want to hit this goal NOT COUNTING audio books, so that means in the final quarter of 2022, I need to read about 7 print books a month. Wish me luck!!

I found you through SHU's blog this morning! We have similar reading tastes, I think! I just started Tomorrowx3 last night and had the hardest time putting it down. It is giving me such a sense of nostalgia! I heard the author of People Person on a podcast recently - she is the most charming person and of course her British accent didn't hurt. The podcast was Sarah's Bookshelves Live - might be worth listening since you loved her book!
