1. Baby dance. NEED I SAY MORE? LOOK AT THIS PICTURE? (Also the sign says September, but it was def October)
3. Salted caramel brownies— but the easy way. Use your favorite brownie mix and make it cakey with an extra egg. Line your fave baking pan with parchment and put half the mix in the pan. Then unwrap an entire freaking bag of Kraft caramel cubes and melt 3/4 of the bag with some (?) heavy whipping cream in the microwave. Spread the melted caramel over the brownie mix; sprinkle with kosher salt; top with the rest of the brownie mix. Bake it as you normally would and when the brownies come out, melt the other 1/4 bag of caramels and drizzle over the top. SO GOOD. Do not overcook though— they are better a little squishy than dry. I have made these twice recently, and I have no regrets.
4. Two Good vanilla yogurt— it might be the perfect snack.
5. Clinique! I have not dabbled in this brand for decades, but I got a couple of moisturizers, plus a couple of lipsticks, an eyeliner, and a mascara, and teenage me was ONTO SOMETHING.
You do NOT need to say more - gah, the cuteness is too much to bear.
ReplyDeleteI love brownies but basically never make them. This is inspiring me. I did just bake two carrot cakes; did you know they freeze SO well, even with CC frosting on? We have company coming tomorrow for dessert + coffee so I made 2 8x8s and I'll frost both but freeze one. It's about the same amount of work to do two...so why not give future me a boost?
Carrot cakes seem very labor intensive to me—I am not sure I have ever made one. But I DO love them
DeleteOooh did you go to the Clinique counter? That was always the epitome of glamour for me when I was young. I wished I could afford Clinique!
ReplyDeleteI like your style of recipe, it's like mine. "put some whipping cream in, bake" I am here for this!
Yes— and I remembered how awesome I thought it was as a kid when I was basically as an adult just running an errand
DeleteMinnie looks so much like you in that photo! Adorbs!
ReplyDeleteThose brownies sound delicious and I'm not a huge brownie fan. I shall consider the salted caramel approach in the future!
It’s a fun twist and SO EASY
DeleteMinnie in dance class! So much cuteness! When I look at this picture, I see the cuteness of her cheeks and curls... and also the confidence of a toddler who is loved and doted on. 💗
ReplyDeleteOh what a lovely thing to say— thank you
DeleteOh look, google is letting me put my name in for a change when commenting on my phone. Minnie is too cute! She looks so much like you! Those brownies sound amazing. They remind me of Carmelitas which I made years ago. They are an oatmeal based bar with a layer of Carmel in the middle and they are delightful!! But they are way too rich for Phil so I only make them if we need to bring a dessert somewhere.
ReplyDeleteOooooh I would love that. Baked goods wit oatmeal are my favorite.
DeleteNow I wish I had a need to make brownies for some reason, because those sound amazing. My favorite brownie mix is Ghiradelli with the chocolate chips inside. I'll bet it would be amazing with caramel. Yum. I read the post below too, and I love the 25 minute/break thing. Nice to break things down and make them more manageable!
ReplyDeleteMy fave mix too!! My family prefers boring Betty Crocker.
DeleteAnd... Now I'm going to make brownies for dinner
ReplyDeleteYesssssss
DeleteThose brownies sound great! I am actually not a huge cake person, but I do love a nice dark chocolatey brownie! I am also with Elisabeth and am a fan of carrot cake too but never thought about freezing it with the frosting already on it!
ReplyDeleteAlready frosted! I know! What a delight to pull that baby out of the fridge!
