Yay for Thanksgiving!!
These were delightful. I put them in a basket on the table because why not, and the leftovers were great with the sausage balls Ben made for Friday morning breakfast (frozen pancakes, breakfast sausage, cheese— he watched a Reel **shrug**)
My pies were SO UGLY but also SO GOOD. I made 2 even though I also made cookies and my mom brought carrot cake because I wanted a whole one for leftovers, and this was the right choice.
We made a Crisco crust because trans fat makes everything better.
Minnie sent my mom home with one million colored-on Thanksgiving placemats.
NOT WEARING PAJAMA PANTS. Wow.
Minnie wanted to be Very Fancy
Chaos!
Matching crowns in our crackers
LOL
I made corn bread stuffing (and swapped sour dough for French bread in THIS recipe)
CHEERS!
The artist at work
She was so serious about handing out crackers.
Smug asshole green bean casserole— NO CANS!
Huge fan of her cracker crown
Ditto
We had so much fun! Everything was delicious. The kids were reasonably well behaved (WHICH IS ALL WE CAN ASK FOR, REALLY). The leftovers were glorious.
This looks so festive and fun. Making more dessert than necessary is ALWAYS the right decision.
ReplyDeleteALWAYS!!
DeleteYES. Fried egg on top of pumpkin pie the morning after Thanksgiving is something I dream about all year.
DeleteSounds fun and looks delish... especially Minnie :)!
ReplyDeleteshe's definitely a treat
DeleteThis is Lisa. I am glad you guys had such a great holiday!! I love Thanksgiving so so much. It’s my fave holiday. I love Minnie’s rosy cheeks and festive outfit! She’s such a cutie.
ReplyDeletemine too!!
DeleteThis looks like so much fun, Sarah. What a wonderful celebration. Hoping Minnie is feeling better today!
ReplyDeleteexcept for the truly disgusting cough, she's feeling great!
DeleteFantastic! I'm glad it went well, even with poor Minnie and her ear infections!
ReplyDeleteShe was in pretty good spirits, luckily
DeleteYay for ugly delicious pie! Which reminds me, I think we have a slice of pie still in the fridge. Do I eat some for breakfast, or leave it for my daughter who hasn't had any? Hmmm. Your Thanksgiving looks perfect. We do crackers too, but only at Christmas. Perhaps we should re-think this.
ReplyDeleteEAT IT FOR BREAKFAST
DeleteBetter a delicious ugly pie than a beautiful tasteless one. Go you for pulling off a great Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeletethanks!
DeleteWell this was delightful to read.
ReplyDeleteWould you believe I've never had a green bean casserole. Everyone is raving about them...I might have to try it? I think it's not a "thing" in Canada?
ooooh the one I posted was delish!
DeleteMy kids always get sick at Thanksgiving too. And usually Christmas as well. Why?! The doctors and pharmacies are closed or hard to get into and of course it's no fun to be sick on a holiday. Hope Minnie is all better. What is she doing in that last photo?
ReplyDeleteshe got a tiny telescope in her cracker :)
DeleteAhhh - adorable
DeleteIt sounds like an amazing day! But I also had ugly yet delicious pies. I need some sort of tutorial to learn how to make my pies look good.
ReplyDeleteI have legit tried, but it's not a skill I possess
DeleteUgh, that picture of Minnie when she's coloring with the biggest smile on her face is KILLING ME. How is she so dang cute?!?!?!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had a great Thanksgiving!
thank you!
DeleteOh what a delight a family Thanksgiving can be - thanks for sharing your "craziness" :)
ReplyDeleteOK, I need to know. Where did you get your crackers? My mother swore up and down they cost an arm and a leg and that her sister was only able to obtain them through some secret source I can't even remember now. (They did have 30ish people so maybe the sheer number of crackers required was a limiting factor?)
ReplyDeleteThis looks so joyful. Everyone seems very happy. Food looks great.
