February goals

 1. Schedule a mammogram, schedule a cavity fill I had to reschedule because of Ben’s job change (STILL DEALING WITH THIS STUFF), schedule an extra lunch bunch for Minnie so I can make my annual check up I also scheduled in Before Times.

2. Get a massage

3. Explore my acupuncture options with a new practice— not sure I am ready to jump in with someone new, but I am ready to see what’s out there

4. Schedule 2 date nights

5. Plan Dorothy’s birthday and birthday party

6. Plan Ben’s birthday

7. Walk more miles in February than I did in January

8. YOGA. Just the word. Not sure what the goal is.

9. Declutter the laundry room and garage.

10. CARPET SHOP FFS.

Well. It’s shaping up to be a busy little month.

What about you? Anything you want to do this month?

  1. You just reminded me I need to schedule my own mammogram! Yikes, I am about six months later than normal. The move messed me up.
I like Minnie's outfit, want one for myself.

    1. I love satin-y old lady nightgowns, so I would take one of these as well.

  2. 8. YOGA. Just the word. Not sure what the goal is.
    Bwhahahaha.

I'm not setting goals this year, so I got nada, but I would like to continue on with my daily yoga practice. I am loving it!

I also need to schedule a dentist appointment. SIGH. I have been putting it off a long time and MUST do it next week.

    1. I am avoiding the big yearly goals, but I need to sort of guide myself month-to-month or I lose sight of all these little things.

  3. I did all of my medical stuff in December, glad to have it behind me.

Carpet Shopping! We need new carpet, big time. What stops me is not just the money, it's the hassle. We have a small house, and my office is in our bedroom...so there's regular bedroom furniture, plus my desk and file cabinet, plus plus a computer armoire for my husband's computer. Where would we put it? How would we move it (it was assembled in the room, which means it would need to be disassembled, which means HASSLE. It's exhausting to think about.

    1. YES— the hassle! We cannot bring ourselves to even start the project because it just sounds SO unpleasant.

    1. Ooooh, such a good idea to do them early. They are Ben’s job to deal with, and I am pretty sure our accountant hates us in late march.

Lisa here. My goal for February was to go on a date and we did!! Hurrah! We went last night and had a great time. I thought taco would struggle and Paul would be fine and it was the exact opposite. Taco was totally unfazed and loved showing the babysitter around. Paul burst into tears and clung to me when she got here. But he rallied and all went well!

Good luck with your list! That is a lot for a short month! I do need to get one of my specialty medications for my RA figured out this month. IT IS SO COMPLICATED to switch meds. I made 2 phone calls from the airport last week but got nowhere. I have about a week to get this figured out… fingers crossed I get it settled this week. The number of hoops I have to jump through is RIDICULOUS. But the meds are $1,000/injection so I kind of get it. Kind of.

    1. I like that you have compassion for the insurance companies— this is a good frame, Yay date night!!

  6. I need to put my summer sandals in the mail to get resoled. If I don't do it by the end of February, they won't be ready for summer. This needs to be a priority!!

My phone will not let me comment on specific blogs rn. Why? I wonder if it because my blog is on private? Anyway, I'm here to cluster comment on the last few posts, because I was at the high school either watching a game or working concessions all day yesterday (or it felt like it, since I don't enjoy standing trapped behind a table while the AD and various coaches parade by) and I couldn't comment.

I enjoy your book recommendations. I laughed at the one that was so bad it was art. Hilarious. I just finished the Covenant of Water. So good. So long. I mostly use my eyes for reading, and it was sort of challenging to get comfortable in bed reading that massive book.

My kitchen project was the pasta party that ended up being boycotted by the varsity boy team. Nice. Class act. I'm sure the coach orchestrated that. I can't eat the pasta, but I am a pro at serving it leftover and sharing with my aging folks who I share meals with whenever I can. I hope to come back and check out the sheet pan recipe. I also think the desserts sound delightful. I've never made the snickedoodle (I'm flubbing the name here) and you've raved about them before. I must work that into the rotation.

That reminds me, I failed to mention the day you thought of your dad because you were wearing a necklace your folks gifted you. Oh, my heart. I can't imagine. You are so young to have lost a parent. I'm so sorry.

And finally YOUR LIST: This is a lot to accomplish. Good luck. I'm lucky to be married to a PT. I get massages (sometimes) and that's a great perk. My list includes trying to figure out who will watch the two newbie girls when we go out of town for parents' weekend at ND and when we go to Dallas with Coach teaches a class. This is pressing and I need to figure it out. I love lists- if for no other reason than the crossing out of the things accomplished. ;)

    1. I cannot believe they boycotted— that is such garbage and such a terrible thing to teach kids on the part of the team coach. I am angry on your behalf! And the slim profile for night reading is maybe the only thing I really like about the Kindle.

  8. I love your list. I can so relate to yoga. I decided - I am going to cough up $95 per month for unlimited yearly membership. I am cheap so that should motivate me. Will report back.
Also have two dates lined up and T's birthday is also in February!
