Oh my GOSH! I didn't pick a word or make a 24-in-24 list this year, but I really felt like I needed STRUCTURE in the new year when I set my February goals-- teaching online makes it hard for me to keep my shit together like grown ups are supposed to do, you know? And! Turns out, having some goals in mind really helped me in all areas of my life. I had a very productive February, still had time to do fun things, and worked on some new rhythms that I think will stick around.
I DID EVERYTHING ON MY LIST except SHOP FOR CARPET and DECLUTTER THE GARAGE. So that's 8.5/10-- a solid B to start the year. (I DID declutter the laundry room, the other half of the garage situation).
Soooo, on to March:
1. SELF CARE: hair cut, pedicure, massage, acupuncture
2. Eat smaller lunches-- I think I need to work on something sweet and satisfying for the end of the meal that I won't overindulge on. Ideas?
3. CARPET SHOP.
4. Buy ALL OF THE MERCH for whatever college Harry commits to
5. Figure out why my wedding rings are not fitting and what to do about that
6. YOGA on the REGULAR (I got back into it in February but have not been able to figure out how to add it in for real.)
7. Demolish my TBR.
8. Celebrate the heck out of Ben and Dorothy and make Coop a half cake for the big 11.5
9. Work at my office AT LEAST 2 days a week
10. Work in a coffee shop-- still haven't done this in 2024!
Any March goals you are contemplating?
Also, guys. I guess I am going gray.
I have loved the Yoga with Adriene series. They are all under 30 minutes (mostly 20 minutes). Nothing too intensive, but I LEGIT am more flexible!
ReplyDeleteI love her too! I am just having trouble figuring out how to do it regularly- I don;' know if it a clothes issue or what (like once I get dressed for the day it's off limits??)
DeleteThey do yoga at our student union twice a week during lunch. I've only been about to go a couple of times, but I just go in my work clothes (other people change, but I ain't got time for that). Now I'm convinced that I can do about 75% of my yoga workouts in work clothes.
DeleteIt is probably a mindset thing for me because I am sure my normal clothes are comfy enough for yoga
DeleteI saw the tagged story on IG and I still don't get how the colour didn't take! Maybe it was a defective box? Anyway, that's a good list of goals - you are a busy woman. I have a non-blog writing goal of 12000 words, or a stretch of 15000. I hope to achieve it, I have overachieved my word counts for Jan and Feb so far, so here's hoping.
ReplyDeletemaybe I got too light of a color? trying to avoid the all black look. I want to read your non blog writing!
DeleteAbout the something sweet--I scoffed at those "Aussie Bites" I saw at Costco... but they're the perfect sweet bite without being too cloying... https://www.costco.com/universal-bakery-traditional-aussie-bites%2C-27-oz.product.100644766.html
ReplyDeleteLove the online teaching for you--it must really help with time not spent commuting and all that.
oooooh these look so good! I am hitting up Costco on Wednesday and will give them a try
DeleteI have been eating a few dates with almond butter (ok and maybe a smear of Nutella too)…..I know dates are full of sugar but for some reason this has been very dessert satisfying!
ReplyDeleteooooh yes-- with a little bit of cinnamon on top
DeleteIn March, I'd like to get another month of my 2023 photo album done and we need to do a big goodwill drop at some point. That's kind of it. I am really not asking much of myself these days since work is so insane lately.
ReplyDeleteI love that you will buy all the merch for Harry's college choice. I hope his college has a sale. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping to get some more spaces decluttered/deep cleaned. Looking forward to some chill out time with Mini when she's home on spring break next week. I also hope to start Reg's graduation video project. I do it for all the kids when they finish high school. It's a big undertaking, because I get kinda nutty about including so many awesome videos and pics, then picking the perfect music, etc. Gotta get stuff done before Curly's travel ball season starts, since I'm the one who usually travels with her. Lots of out of state tournies this season.
I made a goal to work from a coffee shop once a week and I have not done it once! But I may try to combine my coffee shop dates with a friend working date so maybe that will get me out of the house at least once during the week. I'm SO LAZY.
