Not only are things crazy busy with dance and dive season overlapping, but also it is spring break season, and Harry has a different one than the rest of us (and Ben does not have one at all). We have tons of tools and boxes everywhere. OUR WATER HEATER DIED YESTERDAY. I have a million things to grade. Middle school has standardized testing, so the kids are grumpy. I am trying to decide where we want to send Minnie for kindergarten next year. Democracy is crumbling before our eyes. TOO MUCH IS HAPPENING.
I am still in a reading slump, and, to make it worse, I have like 15 (literally) brand new books from the library that I researched to get the moment they came out, and if I request them again, I will be the 300th person in line.
My skin is a disaster, and I have a very full mustache. I haven't had a period in 107 days, and I have had PMS for the last 64 days. Or maybe that's just my personality now? All my clothes are too tight in the stomach. The only thing that makes me feel good is Cadbury mini eggs, and I cannot look away from the news.
HOW ARE YOU?
(A few positives: We have a plumber friend who immediately brought a water heater, installed it, and took away the old one. Plus he is going to fix a tiny part in our water softener, and we don't have to get a new one. Plus Ben was home when it happened, so things were less chaotic than they might have been. I had a meeting I needed to go to, so Harry stepped in to pick up Minnie and take her out to lunch. It is finally warm enough for my favorite fashion combo: jeans and heels)
Whine away! This is the space for it!
ReplyDeleteI, too, feel like things have been piling on, and have been stringent with my time at work. The less dilly-dallying I do, the better my lessons are, the better students behave, the more engaged they are, the better mood I'm in. On Monday I've felt that work is just one huge dumpster fire. But today I feel a tad bit more in control. House...
Total #fail with corned beef and cabbage since we started cooking it at 4:30. We eat dinner at 5, what are we doing? So the kids had something else, and T and I waited till 7 and had Corned beef and cabbage. We should have made it yesterday- Sunday. Ugh, whatevs, it's done.
If you cannot whine on your blog, WHY HAVE A BLOG? It is why I started mine and I refuse to give up on its main purpose.
ReplyDeleteYou are dealing with a lot, my friend! Sometimes, we just need the time to vent and whine and that's what our blogs are for. <3 I'm glad the water heater issue got fixed easily. If only our democracy was so easy to fix.
ReplyDelete"My skin is a disaster, and I have a very full mustache. I haven't had a period in 107 days, and I have had PMS for the last 64 days. Or maybe that's just my personality now?" Well- at least you still have your sense of humor! I agree this is a LOT to deal with. I'm VERY glad you at least got the water heater fixed- i would say that's pretty important.
ReplyDeleteughghghghghhggh good lord, that collection of stuff is AMPLY whine-worthy. I am in perimenopause and gah, the WEIGHT, and the WEIRD PATCHES OF ECZEMA and the HURTING STUFF. But after the husband's last 3-week trip, when he got home I was calm about all the stuff going wrong in the house because I didn't have to deal with it alone anymore.
