Easter Weekend

Spoiler: WE HAD SO MUCH FUN!

Minnie wore her bunny ears for two solid days and waited as patiently as she possibly could for her grandparents and the Easter Bunny to show up.

We had dinner at Butterbird Friday night, and by the time we were leaving, there was a line out the door to the street to get it. Listen. I like the food and the vibes, but would I every wait in a line like that for a chicken salad? (No).

Saturday, the grandparents golfed with Jack and Coop

The kids dyed eggs (and their fingers)

And we went to a favorite pizza place whose new downtown location makes Madison look like a city

The Easter Bunny had an Old Fashioned and then some prosecco, so the filling of the eggs for te next morning's hunt was very loosey goosey. Some had $1. Some had $50. Some just had candy. TL; DR even though the bunny left very detailed instructions that seemed to suggest parity, Cooper found 20 eggs with $81 inside, and Jack found 20 eggs with $16 inside. LOL oops. (Dorothy got an extremely random $43, and Minnie went for eggs that rattled, meaning she is rich in Hershey kisses and had $15).

Everyone was cool about it, though, because finding eggs and baskets is just plain fun.

I could not find any salt and pepper shakers for brunch except for my Spode ones.
And! We served a terrifying cake for dessert:

Minnie probably had the best time-- her bubble machine dreams came true

  2. Ha ha, I'm laughing at Minnie wanting the eggs that rattle (no, no! Those aren't the good ones...) I'm also laughing at your Christmas salt and pepper shakers. It sounds like a really fun weekend!

  3. I’m pretty sure it would take more than 2 drinks to get me to put $50 in an egg, I’d probably be all about the quarters. HOWEVER, what a jackpot for Cooper! Also for Minnie, she has no need for cash, chocolates for the win!

    That cake is indeed terrifying.

  4. Minnie's pajamas! Are those the super fuzzy soft Target ones? We go crazy for those in this house and I am SO BUMMED that my daughter is about to outgrow all of the Target children's section. (She's ONLY EIGHT, HELP)

  5. So you have like an Easter Bunny/ Tooth Fairy mash-up? So fun.

  6. What a fun Easter holiday for the fam! We never got money in our Easter eggs - always candy. And then when I out-grew Easter egg hunts, money started to be included. NOT COOL!

  7. Whoa - the Easter Bunny after a few drinks . . . so generous or lopsided. Hilarious. I would've been super bent out of shape as a kid, if a sibling got more money than me. That's my middle child issue rearing its ugly head. Hooray for visiting grandparents and bunny ears and so many cakes. That cake might be scary - but I bet it still tasted great.
