Wednesday Whines

LOL that headline made me laugh and then cry and then, like, go hide in a closet. I have GOT to be all done with dystopian fiction. Also, I need to dust off ye olde dissertation-- I am thinking in particular of a chapter about vets returning from war and the ways Planned Parenthood pushed a pronatalist (eugenic, if we are being honest) agenda.

SPRING IN WI, am I right?

Annabel got to hang out with Minnie and me for a hot second, but then she ate too many wood chips and had to go inside.
Okay, guys. What the actual fuck am I going to do with my hair? I **think** after summer I am going to cut most of it off to get rid of the weird red that is a result of the Madison Reed stuff I was using and then get a shit ton of bronde highlights to bend the gray in. I almost got a pixie cut yesterday to just start fresh and go gray. Also, I cut my own bangs while I was on the phone with my brother the other day (LOL-- DO NOT DO THIS), and now the shape is WAY WAY WAY off. Blergh.

  1. Your messy bun is unparalleled in my opinion, but i'm sure you'd look cute af with short hair too. I can't go gray yet - I don't mind the colour, some of it is silver and shiny, but i can't do a frigging thing with it.
I also read too much dystopian fiction and I am so distressed that they seem to be using much of it as a handbook. It's supposed to be FICTION.

  2. Work that dissertation chapter, Sarah! That WH initiative is side-angle Handmaid's Tale, for sure. Your bangs look super cute! I've noticed an uptick in my greys too--it must be the newscycle.

  4. Ha, well rest assured that no matter what your hair looks like, I would assume it was a fashion choice and think it looked good. (So... I am also not a person to seek advice from about hair or clothes.)
No no no no... no dystopian fiction for me. I just can't take it.

  5. We’re in a dystopian novel or movie for sure and it’s not going to end well and I hate that about life. It’s goddamn Orwellian around here. Atwoodian.

I am not saying you should do this, because you should not. When my cousin decided to go grey, she shaved her head bald, and wore a wig until it had grown out enough to count as a haircut. Just an option for you, but not a good one. I think your hair is cute. I’ve been toying with the idea of coloring my own hair instead of paying my hairdresser, but she’s a single mom with 4 (5?) kids and needs the money. Also, blonde hair doesn’t do so great with box hair color, I think. I had red hair once (with blonde highlights) and I loved it but the color faded very quickly and also somehow ruined our bath towels.

  6. I was struggling with what to wear for Easter and I decided . . . it's because living in the Midwest means I have a winter wardrobe and a summer wardrobe, but not much falls into spring category.

I love your hair. It always looks cute. I feel like the length gives you options. My hair is ridiculously thin. I can't wear it long. I'm envious of your thick, abundant hair.

  7. I had a dream that I thought I was pregnant and bought a pregnancy test. But then was too scared to actually take the test. I woke up very happy. I'm the liberal the Republicans are terrified of.

When I had bangs, I did okay with cutting them myself but it never looked as good as the hairstylist did. IMAGINE THAT.

  8. Your gray is coming in so pretty! I think once you cut the ends off it won't seem like such a dramatic transition?
